Acupressure Therapy

Acupressure is a therapy that's been used for at least 5,000 years. It's an ancient Chinese technique that's closely related to acupuncture. The same bodily principles apply to both, but acupressure does not use needles. Only pressure is applied to specific points on the body to achieve medically desired benefits.
According to ancient Chinese beliefs, energy flows through the body in specific channels. This is called Qi or Chi. Also, the opposite but equal forces called yin and yang must be in balance in order for a human body to be healthy. When the flow of Qi is disrupted, yin and yang become unbalanced, and illness results. So, restoring the flow of Qi restores the balance of yin and yang and thus good health.

Acupressure massage therapy can relieve pain, stress, menstrual cramps, arthritis, and many other human discomforts and illnesses. Of course, acupressure isn't a magic formula. The medical establishment can't argue with success. Well, they CAN, and they HAVE — but the establishment is beginning to
open its eyes and take a second look.
Acupressure stimulates the body's own recuperative powers by applying pressure to various points on the body. This stimulates the body's own defenses and allows the body itself to remove energy blockages by diffusing the toxic buildup that accumulates in the muscle tissue. There's an accumulation of toxins that build up in the body that causes stiffness in muscles and puts abnormal pressure on nerves, and blood vessels and lymph nodes. The pressure on blood vessels and lymph nodes affects all body functions.
Acupressure therapy is delivered by massage. Specific points on the body are massaged with the fingers or thumbs. Sometimes blunt objects are used in a circular motion with a medium pressure. Massages last between 5 and 15 minutes.
